...orange I glad she didn't say bandana

Greetings! Lookie at what I got!

I know there's not a heck of a lot of orange in this, but there's a bit...and I won this door prize because the other finalist at our knitting group meeting lastnight forgot the word "bandana" in our little memory game; therefore I could not resist the urge to cleverly dub this colourway "orange I glad she didn't say bandana", even though I'm sure Sweet Georgia has a name for this colourway already, and I'm sure the name for the colourway is just as luscious and gorgeous as the yarn itself.

I am in love. This is the kind of yarn I would never buy for myself. It's a splurge. It's yarn you covet. I fell asleep last night thinking of the possibilities for this yarn, and I woke up this morning with this yarn as my first thought. It's yearn, not yarn. Now to find a use for it. I'm thinking either Monkey (I'm addicted to Cookie A's glorious sock patterns) or Jaywalker.....I'll have to see how it swatches up and if it is stripey enough to my Jaywalker liking.

I also donated a door prize to said knitting group meeting, these aren't the exact ones but here's some stitch markers I've been crafting lately. I gave away a set of four last night in blue colourways.

Delayed Fairly Easy Fair Isle

I made this "Fairly Easy Fair Isle" cardigan back in August specifically for my trip to Europe which I went on in September. It was a dream to make with Lopi on Addi's, and a super quick knit. I've been meaning to make another one in a Brown colourway, ah one of these days.

And here I am keeping snuggly in Amsterdam enjoying a nice picnic lunch and looking very hip (and quite jet-lagged) if I do say so myself...

And in the spirit of hipness, this is the Van Gogh Museum that I picnicked in front of in the above snapshot. Out of all the museums I visited on my trip (and there were many) this one had to be my favourite.

Oh and just for the heck of it, this is what I ate in said picnic....a 4 Euro grocery store lunch consisting of fruit, crackers, spiced gouda (I love you, dutch cheesemakers) and olives. That cartoned stuff there is Vla, it's like a drinkable chocolate pudding only it's got more protein and fills you up for the day. Bonus!

The Most Terrifying Moment of My Life...

Okay, maybe that's overdoing it a bit. Tonight.... I steek for the first time.

*Holds breath*

I'm making the seda vest from knitpicks and have gotten to the steek point. My crochet chains are in place, and I've had confirmation that everything looks good to go.

Stay tuned kids.

FO's part deux

My crowning masterpiece of Fall/Winter 2006. The Equinox Yoke Pullover from the Fall '06 IK, knit in Berocco Ultra Alpaca in a slightly different colour scheme than the pattern called for (no grey, more green)

And c'est moi, lounging on the lush green grass enjoying the warm hug of my handiwork:
